The Case of the Disappearing Brides

Will Tadeáš of Příhrazy solve a case that seems lost from the start?

Tadeáš of Příhrazy travels to Nymburk to take part in the festival of Saint Hubert. His unexpected journey soon turns into an investigation when the local priest asks him to prove the innocence of his friend, Hostivít of Hořátev. Convicted of numerous heinous crimes, Hostivít is awaiting execution. Tadeáš initially refuses to waste his time on a seemingly lost cause, but that changes when he is attacked by an unknown assailant. This brings back memories of an investigation he conducted in Nymburk more than a year ago. The search becomes significantly more complicated when Hostivít escapes from prison, leaving more dead bodies in his wake. To make matters worse, Tadeáš loses Jozífek, the commander of the castle garrison. Can Tadeáš unravel this strange tangle of questions once again and avoid disappointing his protector, Wenceslas II?
