In the form of diary entries of a girl waiting in Terezín to be transported to an extermination camp, the author depicts the struggle of a young person's instinctive and indestructible hope with the horrible reality. The girl uses her beauty and youth to delay her departure for transport, but she is also aware that contact with men is a source of lessons about the world and people she will never know. He tries to understand the boundaries of right and wrong, he has the need to act freely for once in his life, even though he knows he will pay the ultimate price.
