The device transmits in the 2.4GHz band and fully supports the 802.11b, 802.11g, and 802.11n wireless standards. The Dual-chain 2.4GHz wireless technology increases network throughput and helps maintain a stable connection for connected client devices. The transfer speed reaches 300Mb/s, which is sufficient for smooth internet browsing, emailing, and file transfers. The integrated transmission power ranges from 16 to 22dBm, depending on the selected speed and modulation. The Mikrotik RB single-band WiFi access point uses a built-in antenna with a total gain of 1.5dBi to propagate the signal.
Security and network features
An integrated firewall, along with the advanced features of the RouterOS operating system, ensures data protection and user access control. The device supports WPS technology, which connects new clients at the push of a physical button without the need to enter a lengthy password. Network administrators can use QoS bandwidth management and speed limiting tools for individual users. There is also support for the modern IPv6 Ready internet protocol and the option to set up a secure, encrypted VPN connection. The security features and integrated firewall help protect the internal network from unauthorised external access. Physical connectivity is provided by four built-in Fast Ethernet ports with a transfer speed of 10/100Mb/s for reliable wired connections to computers, printers, or game consoles. A microUSB power input complements the four Fast Ethernet ports.
Management in RouterOS
At the heart of the hardware is a single-core QCA9533 processor clocked at 650MHz, which is backed up by 32MB of RAM and 16MB of flash storage. The router is equipped with a powerful 650MHz processor working with 32MB of RAM. Rich connectivity is supported by four Fast Ethernet ports (1× WAN and 3× LAN) and two powerful 2.4GHz WiFi wireless modules supporting 802.11/b/g/n standards. A WPS button for easier authentication and CAPsMAN access is also included. The device can be powered via a USB port or the 5V adapter that is included in the package.
