Silverback
Silverback is an exceptional blend of arabica from the Mount Elgon volcano and robusta from the lowland Kibale region. Bitter earthy robusta forms the body of the Silverback blend. The fruity hint of citrus fruits is given by our Arabica blend African Queen. If you want to taste the best balanced coffee blend in the world, you've come to the right place. In the aroma of Silverback coffee there are floral notes and woody bitterness of Ugandan robusta. The acidity is quite mild - citrusy. The taste of this coffee is really interesting - liquorice, cedar, jasmine and figs in the aftertaste.

A distinctive Ugandan blend of Arabica and Robusta
Uganda is famous for its robustness all over the world. According to scientific knowledge, the first Robusta bushes grew in Uganda near Lake Victoria several thousand years ago. Our blend of Arabica and Robusta creates the perfect refreshing espresso. The rich crema is due to the proportion of robusta, which contains more caffeine, in the overall blend. We named it after the dominant male gorilla - silverback - for its strength.
We buy Silverback coffee with an awareness of our responsibility to protect the environment. Direct contact with the farmers, whom we visit personally on their coffee plantations, is also essential. We know that only by buying directly from the growers can we get perfect quality. This also allows us to guarantee that the coffee we offer is not tainted by robbing farmers or slave child labour.
