nJoy Aster 10KT

The nJoy Aster 10KT backup power supply is a professional online UPS 9 kW with double-conversion (VFI) technology, providing an apparent power of 10000VA and a real power of 9000W. It generates a pure sine wave output voltage, which delivers the essential protection for critical server and IT systems. Thanks to its wide input voltage range of 80 to 300VAC, it minimises transfers to battery power and extends battery life. Thanks to zero transfer time to battery, it protects connected devices without any interruption. The user can set the output voltage to 208, 220, 230 or 240VAC with an accuracy of ±1% in battery mode. The flexible design of this rack UPS allows for both horizontal mounting in a 2U position and vertical tower setup.

Topology, battery and protection features

This backup power supply for servers uses an online topology (VFI) that continuously regenerates the power supply and isolates appliances from all mains problems. The output power factor is 0.9. A wide input voltage range of 80–300VAC reduces the need to switch to battery. The efficiency in inverter mode is at least 92%, and reaches up to 96% in the energy-saving ECO mode. With internal batteries, the backup time at 50% load is 9 minutes and at full load is 2.2 minutes. The device requires the installation of 16 internal 12V batteries with a capacity of 7Ah or 9Ah, which are not included. It takes approximately 5 hours to charge them to 90% capacity. The cold start function starts the UPS directly from the batteries, even without an input power supply. The backup time can be extended by connecting an external battery module, which increases the backup time to 23 minutes at 50% load. It includes protection against overload, complete discharge, overcharge and input overvoltage.

Advanced management and connectivity options

The multifunctional colour LCD display provides an overview of the UPS status, load level and battery capacity. HID USB, RS232 and a slot for an optional SNMP card serve as communication ports for management and automation. The Power Master software enables remote monitoring and a safe shutdown of systems. It also offers an Emergency Power Off (EPO) function and support for generator power. This rack UPS requires a fixed installation into the electrical distribution system. It uses a terminal block for both input and output connections. The device does not include standard output sockets, reflecting its use in professional installations and data centres.
