nJoy Balder 1500

nJoy Balder 1500
The nJoy Balder 1500 UPS provides professional power protection for servers and critical IT infrastructure. As a 1500VA rack-mounted UPS, it uses online double-conversion topology, which continuously isolates connected devices from all power grid failures. It delivers 1500VA of apparent power and 1500W of real power, meaning the output factor of 1.0 ensures the UPS capacity is fully utilised. The output generates a pure sine wave voltage, which is essential for sensitive electronics. It provides 11 minutes of backup at half load and 3 minutes at full load. We designed this solution for continuous operation and reliable performance in a 2U rack-mounted format.
Key features of the nJoy Balder 1500 UPS
- Ensures protection with online double-conversion topology
- Hot-swappable batteries for replacement during operation
- Supports external battery modules for extended backup time
- Includes programmable output sockets for load management
- Offers a versatile design for rack or tower mounting
- Clear LCD for easy setup and monitoring
- Cold start function to start the UPS from batteries
- Generates a pure sine wave output voltage
Performance and efficiency
The UPS operates with online double-conversion (VFI) topology, which permanently separates the output from all input network anomalies, including voltage and frequency fluctuations. It offers an apparent power of 1500VA and a real power of 1500W. The real power fully corresponds to the apparent power, thanks to an output power factor of 1.0. A wide input voltage range of 110–300V AC at half load reduces the frequency of switching to battery power, thus saving battery life. The high efficiency in online mode, reaching up to 96%, helps to reduce operating costs and thermal losses.
Battery and protection
The unit contains three internal HR09122F batteries that are hot-swappable, meaning they can be replaced without shutting down connected devices. The backup time can be further extended by connecting an optional external battery module. A cold start feature starts the UPS from its batteries even without mains power. Comprehensive protection is complemented by surge protection, RJ-45 data line protection for network devices, and an Emergency Power Off (EPO) port for use in a crisis.
Management and connectivity
For easy management and monitoring, there are USB and RS-232 ports, complemented by a slot for an optional SNMP card that enables network management. The supplied software manages the automatic safe shutdown of systems during a prolonged outage. The clear LCD panel displays operating statuses and is used for user parameter settings. Eight IEC C13 output sockets are available, four of which are programmable. The programmable sockets manage priority loads and extend the backup time for key devices by scheduling the shutdown of less critical ones.
