
Nurofen is used for mild to moderate pain such as headaches (including migraines), back pain, toothache, neuralgia, pain during menstruation, muscle and joint pain and pain after surgery. Nurofen also suppresses fever and soothes the pain of flu and acute upper respiratory tract infections. The product is intended for adults and adolescents over 12 years of age.
For short-term use only.
Adults and adolescents aged 12 and over:
The first dose is usually 1 tablet (400 mg of ibuprofen); then 1 tablet (400 mg of ibuprofen) is administered at a minimum interval of 4-6 hours, if necessary. The maximum dose is 1,200 mg (3 tablets) over 24 hours. If adolescents need to take this medicine for more than 3 days or if the symptoms of the disease worsen, a doctor should be consulted.
Older persons:
No special dosage adjustment is required.
Renal impairment:
In patients with mild to moderate renal impairment, it is recommended to always use the lowest effective dose and to exercise caution (patients with severe renal impairment).
Impaired liver function:
In patients with mild to moderate hepatic impairment, it is recommended to always use the lowest effective dose and to exercise caution (patients with severe hepatic impairment).
For oral administration. If gastrointestinal discomfort occurs, it is recommended to take the tablets with a small amount of food.
The incidence of adverse reactions may be reduced by administering the lowest effective dose for the shortest time necessary to improve symptoms (see Gastrointestinal and Cardiovascular Reactions below).
Store at temperatures up to 25 °C Celsius.
