The Ondilo ICO spare sensor is used to measure total dissolved solids (TDS) in pools and hot tubs. This spare part evaluates the electrical conductivity of the water, which it then uses to determine the concentration of salt or the accumulation of chemicals. The ASA polymer construction is resistant to the effects of pool chemicals and external influences. Installation is carried out using the Twist&Lock bayonet system without the need for subsequent adjustment. The probe helps you to keep track of the water's cleanliness and chemical balance throughout the swimming season.
The probe monitors the concentration of salt and total dissolved solids in saltwater pools and hot tubs. The measured values provide an accurate overview of the current condition of the water and its mineral content. Regular measurement helps maintain the correct salt concentration for the proper operation of the pool technology. This gives the user the data needed to adjust the salinity without having to guess the amount of salt.
This part measures the build-up of chemicals in water treated with chlorine or bromine. At a concentration above 2000mg/L, the monitoring system marks the water as saturated with accumulated stabilisers and chlorine residues. Detecting saturation signals the need for a partial water change in the pool or hot tub. A timely water change prevents overdosing with chemicals that are no longer working correctly.
The probe acts as a consumable part that is subject to gradual physical wear and tear during operation. The accuracy of the measurement is affected by limescale deposits, sunscreen residues, and organic impurities such as algae. Regular cleaning extends the life of this sensor and maintains the consistent accuracy of the measured data. The manufacturer recommends storing it at room temperature between 15°C and 25°C with the caps on.
The design corresponds to the specifications of the ICO Pool and ICO Spa monitoring stations. It is fixed using the Twist&Lock bayonet mechanism, which does not require the use of complicated tools for replacement. Installation is facilitated by the mounting key supplied with the station, and the whole process takes only a few minutes. Proper seating protects the internal electronics from water and moisture ingress.
This type of conductive probe works immediately after plugging it in, without the need for a calibration process. Unlike pH or ORP probes, it does not require calibration before the first start-up or during subsequent use. The probe immediately provides accurate data on the conductivity of the pool water directly to the mobile app. This simplifies overall pool care and saves time on maintenance.
