The SAPPHIRE NITRO+ AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT GAMING OC 16G graphics card uses the AMD RDNA 4 architecture with a Navi 48 chip. The card has 16GB of GDDR6 memory clocked at 19500MHz and a 256-bit bus. The core runs at a base frequency of 2400MHz with a boost clock of up to 3060MHz. It connects via a PCI Express 5.0 x16 interface. The outputs include DisplayPort 2.1a and HDMI 2.1b, supporting up to 4 monitors simultaneously. The card supports AMD HYPR-RX with AFMF 2, AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution 4 with AI Upscaling, AMD Radiance Display Engine, and AMD Fluid Motion Frames 2 technologies.
Cooling is handled by the Tri-X system with three axial fans featuring AeroCurve blades, which reduce air resistance and increase the speed range while maintaining low noise levels. The fans are fitted with dual-ball bearings that have a lifespan 85 percent longer than sleeve bearings. The Free Flow design optimises airflow through the cooler's fins and minimises turbulence. An integrated cooling module ensures direct contact with the GPU, memory, and VRM circuits. Honeywell PTM7950 TIM serves as the thermal interface material, offering excellent thermal conductivity. The composite heatpipes are optimised for even heat distribution across the entire cooler. The fans can be easily replaced with a single screw, thanks to the Fan Quick Connect system.
The card's design uses a cold-rolled steel frame that reinforces the shroud and wraps around the sides of the PCB. The MagniPlate magnetic reinforcement combines easy installation with ventilation and component protection. The FrameDefense system provides a sturdy frame construction that is resistant to mechanical damage during handling. The PCB is a 12-layer board with 2oz copper layers and a high TG rating for stability under high currents and temperatures. Fuse protection protects the card when connecting external power via the PCI-E connector. The STEALTH system for concealed power cable routing ensures a clean build appearance. The package includes an L-shaped card holder that prevents sagging and makes it easier to remove the card from the PCIe slot.
The card is equipped with ARGB lighting on the shroud, which can be controlled via the TriXX software or synchronised with the motherboard's RGB system using a 3-pin connector. You can choose from various modes, including a rainbow effect, or turn the lighting off completely. Digital power control provides precise regulation and high efficiency for the power circuits. The VRM circuit cooling and separate thermal modules for the memory effectively dissipate heat from all sections of the card. The tunnelled fin design enhances convective airflow and ensures a continuous flow of air through the cooling system.
