Full-frame, compact form
Achieve any shot you desire with the phenomenally enhanced sensitivity range from ISO 50 to 409600, or record professional-looking videos in the stunning 4K resolution. The a7s camera features a 12.2MP full-frame 35mm Exmor CMOS sensor paired with a powerful high-speed BIONZ X image processor, allowing the users to shoot with unprecedented dynamic range, while faithfully reproducing details for richer tonal gradation and lower noise.
This package contains the camera body only. A compatible lens can be purchase separately.
Unparalleled 4K
The stunning 4K video resolution essentially represents quite the equivalent for breath-taking image quality, as it has approximately four times as many pixels as standard Full HD. The high-bitrate XAVC S Full HD format recording at 50 Mbps, delivers incredible quality and uses intelligent data compression to offer consumer-friendly editing and file sizes. In addition to the standard recording formats the a7S is also able to record at much higher frame rates for slow motion playback, albeit at lower resolutions. The 120 fps recording is possible at 720p using an approximately APS-C sized centre crop of the sensor.

Silent shooting
The electronic shutter eliminates shutter noise, enabling discreet shooting of wildlife, recitals, and more.
Supreme sensitivity and an advanced Spatial Object Detection algorithm deliver ultra-high autofocus speed and precision, even in low-light conditions. With assistance from the high-contrast, high-resolution XGA OLED Tru-Finder, you can monitor the appearance of your final image, including peaking and bokeh.
Compact form, extensive customization
Even despite its compact form, the camera offers unparalleled customization and comes equipped with front and rear dials for all the major exposure settings, as well as the exposure compensation dial and the ISO control wheel. Button customization lets you shoot just the way you like, with frequently used functions assigned to the customizable buttons of your choice.
Quick Navi Pro displays all major shooting options on the LCD screen so you can rapidly confirm settings and make adjustments as desired without searching through dedicated menus.

Tilting LCD screen
The high-resolution 1.2 million dot 3“ tilting screen allows for perfect framing of otherwise impossible overhead or low-angle shots, and flexible exposure possibilities. Built-in Wi-Fi connectivity, with support for NFC, is available, too, for instant sharing of imagery from the camera as well as remote camera control from a linked mobile device. One-touch remote lets you use your smartphone or tablet as a viewfinder and remote control for a digital camera, and one-touch sharing lets you transfer your photos and videos from your camera. The α7s is made from the world's lightest structural metal – magnesium alloy – featuring comprehensive dust and moisture resistance.
