A network switch is a functional network component connecting individual devices and other network elements. It is designed for coordinating network traffic. The Ubiquiti UISP Switch is made to be installed on the work desk or wall. The model features a switching capacity of 16 Gb/s. The Switch has 8 × RJ-45 ports that facilitate connection with network elements. One SFP connector serves to transport data via optical fibers. 10/100/1000Base-T technology enables file transfer with a speed of up to 1000 Mbit/s. It uses Dual Personality ports, notable for incorporating both the RJ-45 and SFP connector ; however, only one can be in use at a time. The switch dimensions are 210.4 × 95 × 29mm. The Ubiquiti device includes PoE technology that provides power and signal connection to end devices with just one LAN cable. The weight of the switch is 610g.
