UBTECH Walker Tienkung (Embodied Intelligence) is a full-featured humanoid research platform for universities, research teams and developers who want to build and test "embodied intelligence" scenarios - intelligence linked to motion, spatial perception and real manipulation. The robot has an anthropomorphic structure 172 cm tall, 42 degrees of freedom (DOF) and is designed for dynamic, natural movement and more complex tasks using two dexterous arms. The Embodied Intelligence version adds hand-eye coordination, fine manipulation and VLA research/task planning (embodied operation) capabilities in addition to voice and vision.

Walker Tienkung is designed as a "full-size" humanoid with anthropomorphic proportions and 42 DOF to faithfully cover real research needs - from locomotion to arm, wrist and head coordination. The design targets a combination of stability and agility, while the manufacturer also mentions support for fast running up to 10 km/h and complex movements.

A key building block is the proprietary integrated joint modules with peak torque of up to 300 Nm, which help achieve dynamics during walking, direction changes and transitions between poses. The lightweight aerospace aluminum and titanium alloy structure is built to handle repeated loads in both laboratory and semi-operational modes.

The Embodied Intelligence version is equipped with two 6DOF dexterous hands (standard) as well as two 6-axis force sensors, which is essential for research on grasping, manipulation and contact control. This combination is suitable for hand-eye coordination scenarios, precision operations and working with a variety of objects.

The Ubtech robot uses a 3× depth camera and IMU for motion estimation and orientation in space; Optional 360° LiDAR can be added. This makes the platform ready for embodied navigation research (e.g. VSLAM/VLN) and for safer movement in more complex environments.

For demanding models and real-time control, Walker Tienkung (Embodied Intelligence) is equipped with a computing platform with 2× NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin (550 TOPS in total) and an onboard part (Intel i7). This configuration is aimed at embodied operations research - i.e., linking perception, decision making and manipulation (VLA, task planning, etc. ).

The platform is built on an open ecosystem: The manufacturer introduces open-source resources, high-precision URDF models, training frameworks and connections to the "KaiWu" platform (robot trajectories, skills/scenes, open OS) for faster application prototyping. There are also development materials and sample code for secondary development in embodied intelligence and motion control.

The Walker Tienkung supports open interfaces for motor control and sensor reading, is ROS2 compatible and uses internal communication via CAN/EtherCAT with a control frequency of up to 1000 Hz. Wi-Fi / Bluetooth / Ethernet is available for connection to the infrastructure.

The platform is targeted at university research and teaching, but also targets scenarios such as navigation in difficult terrain, logistics, healthcare, home assistance or inspection. There are topics on data collection, teleoperation and training labs - a complete pipeline from data acquisition to learning and deployment of skills.
