Movement and stability in the real world

Unitree B2-W actively dampens unevenness and adjusts stride length, stride height and load distribution in real time. It transitions confidently from concrete to gravel, grass or pavement, balances on loose surfaces and handles sharp changes in grade. This provides predictable, smooth and safe movement without the need for ideal conditions.

Wheels for efficiency, legs for ability

Powered wheels speed up longer journeys and save energy. As soon as the terrain gets worse, the Unitree B2-W robot seamlessly switches to walking. The large wheel diameter, high speed and torque help when manoeuvring in tight spaces, gently moving into position and when pushing or pulling loads.

LiDAR and sensor fusion

LiDAR version of Unitree B2-W delivers accurate 3D mapping and localization (SLAM) . The combination of LiDAR with IMU and odometry (possibly with cameras/RTK) ensures robust route planning and safe responses to obstacles and dynamic changes in the environment. In practice, this means stable corridors, reliable obstacle avoidance and less human intervention.

Speed, endurance and payload of the Unitree B2-W robotic dog

The Unitree B2-W robotic dog is capable of fast movements up to around 15 km/h (in practice, depending on the safety limits of the environment). Replaceable battery ≈ 2 kWh / 58 V provides up to ~25 km range with 40 kg load; without load, the range is higher. It can carry more than 40 kg when walking, up to ~120 kg statically.

Stairs, thresholds and inclines

The robot climbs smoothly up continuous stairs 20-25 cm high, crosses thresholds and stands up to 45° on ramps and embankments. Kinematics and steering minimise slippage and prevent tripping even on problematic surfaces.

Durability and operational reliability

The IP67 rating means resistance to dust, rain and splashes. Operating temperatures of -20 to 55°C cover winter cold and summer heat, making it suitable for warehouses, construction sites, tunnels and outdoor inspectionsall year round. The replaceable battery reduces downtime - replacement is quick and logistically simple.
