The Unitree H2 EDU U2 is a full-featured humanoid robot designed for development, teaching and deployment of scenarios in the fields of embodied AI, teleoperation and manipulation work. Its design with 31 degrees of freedom (6 DoF per leg, 7 DoF per arm, 3 DoF in the waist and 2 DoF in the head) allows for stable locomotion, torso work and precise arm guidance, including the wrist. The robot measures 1820 × 456 × 218 mm and weighs approximately 70 kg (including the battery). For environmental perception, it uses a wide-field-of-view binocular camera and for voice scenarios it is equipped with a microphone array and a powerful speaker. This version is also fitted with a pair of five-fingered dexterous BrainCo H2 Revo 2 hands, which provide 6 DoF, 6 joints and 11 degrees of freedom per hand for more precise gripping, better feedback and finer object manipulation.
The Unitree H2 EDU U2 is built on a combination of 6 DoF per leg and 7 DoF per arm, complemented by 3 DoF in the waist. This allows for the integration of a stable stance and centre of gravity transfer with arm and wrist guidance in space. The arms are rated for a load of approx. 7 kg (peak approx. 15 kg) and the joints have high torques – up to 360 N·m for the legs and up to 120 N·m for the arms – which helps when working with loads and during dynamic movements.
In this configuration, the robot is equipped with a pair of five-fingered dexterous bionic BrainCo H2 hands. The robotic hands were developed through technological iteration, an upgrade of prosthetic hands and the agile Revo 1 hand. They offer 6 motors, 6 active joints and 11 degrees of freedom. They are lightweight and allow an active grip force of 50 N. Each hand can bear a maximum load of 20 kg, thus combining high load capacity with a compact and bionic aesthetic design.
For visual tasks, a wide-field-of-view binocular camera is available, suitable for depth work and environmental orientation. The audio part consists of a microphone array and a powerful speaker, so the robot supports voice scenarios and interaction demonstrations.
The platform uses two computing levels: PC1 with an Intel Core i5 for platform capabilities and PC2 with an Intel Core i7 for custom development. For more demanding AI pipelines, the H2 EDU U2 is complemented by a High-Power Computing Module with up to Jetson AGX Thor performance (2070 TOPS). The system supports secondary development and continuous updates via Upgraded Intelligent OTA.
The joint outputs use industrial crossed-roller bearings (for precision and load capacity) and are driven by a PMSM motor with a low-inertia, high-speed internal rotor for fast response and heat dissipation. The construction combines aviation aluminium, titanium alloy, and high-strength engineering plastics; cooling is provided by local airflow.
Power is supplied by a quick-release smart battery with a capacity of 15Ah (0.972kWh) and a maximum voltage of 75.6V. The battery life is approximately 3 hours.
