Unitree R1 EDU U2 is a compact humanoid robot designed for research, teaching and development, where you will appreciate the possibility of programming and secondary development. The design is engineered to work with gait, stability and full-body control algorithms in a real-world environment. The robot measures 1230 × 357 × 190 mm, weighs approximately 29 kg and has 26 degrees of freedom (DoF), including 2 DoF in the head for better perception of the environment. The computing unit combines an 8-core CPU and AI performance of 100 TOPS. The robot includes aesthetic hands (no active fingers for manipulation), so the platform is primarily focused on locomotion and motion control.

The combination of an 8-core CPU and 100 TOPS of AI power makes it easy to run tasks related to perception (camera), audio inputs and real-time motion control.
Construction and movement for locomotion training
The R1 EDU U2 has 26 joints with a distribution of 6 DoF in the leg, 5 DoF in the arm, 2 DoF in the waist and 2 DoF in the head, providing a greater range for working with balance, orientation and environmental perception. Aesthetic hands without active fingers are included, so the main benefit of the platform is in motion analysis and control; dexterous hands can be extended by purchasing.
Sensorics, communication and voice scenarios
For perception of space, there is a binocular camera that is useful for stereo vision and depth work. Communication and voice scenarios are supported by a 4microphone array and a speaker. Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 are used for network integration and development workflow.
Power supply and operation
The Unitree R1 robot uses a quick-release smart battery, changing it is quick and practical for longer work in the classroom. Typical battery life is approximately 1 hour and a charger is included.
