Unitree R1 EDU U5 is a compact humanoid robot designed for research, teaching and development, where you will appreciate the possibility of programming and secondary development. The design is engineered to work with walking, stability and handling. The robot measures 1230 × 357 × 190 mm, weighs approximately 29 kg and has 38 degrees of freedom (DoF), including 2 DoF in the head. Included are two BrainCo Revo 2 Basic five-finger dexterous hands that extend the platform to include more advanced gripping and object handling.

BrainCo Revo 2 Basic five-fingered hands for a variety of grips
The U5 variant adds two five-finger dexterous BrainCo Revo 2 Basic hands. The five fingers expand the grip possibilities and allow experimentation with different types of holding objects, translating, positioning and coordinating both hands in relation to body stability.
Construction and movement for locomotion training
R1 EDU U5 combines locomotion with 38 DoF and two five-fingered dexterous hands. The platform is suitable for teaching gait and stabilization as well as for more advanced manipulation scenarios where you want to combine body movement control with hand work.
Sensorics, communication and voice scenarios
For perception of space, there is a binocular camera that is useful for stereo vision and depth work. Communication and voice scenarios are supported by a 4microphone array and a speaker. Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 are used for network integration and development workflow.
Power supply and operation
The Unitree R1 robot uses a quick-release smart battery, changing it is quick and practical for longer work in the classroom. Typical battery life is approximately 1 hour and a charger is included.
