Frequently Asked Questions
What is collagen and collagen peptides?
Collagen is the main structural protein of tissues. It is found in skin, hair, nails, tendons, cartilage and bones. Collagen works together with other substances such as hyaluronic acid and elastin. It gives our body strength and flexibility. Collagen peptides (hydrolysed collagen) is collagen broken down into its smallest particles. For the human body, peptides are easily digested and absorbed and can be better utilized by the body.
How long before I see the results? The first results of taking collagen usually appear after 4-6 weeks of regular use. Those who regularly take 10-20 grams of collagen daily may notice the first results after only 4 weeks.
How to use collagen?
Enjoy the refreshing natural lemon flavour of Active Complex with water, smoothies or yoghurt.
What does collagen type mean?
There are many different types of collagen in the human body, with types I, II and III making up more than 90% of all collagen fibres. "Type of collagen" refers to where the collagen* is found in the body, not where it is supported after consuming a collagen dietary supplement. Our body is very intelligent and can use collagen from supplements exactly where it is needed most.
Can pregnant and breastfeeding women take it?
As a dietary supplement, our collagen peptides are generally recognized as safe. Food supplements can only be placed on the market if they meet strict safety parameters. It is always, especially for pregnant and breastfeeding women, a very sensitive health issue, whether it concerns medicines or food supplements. However, we recommend that you consult your doctor first, as nutritional needs may vary during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
