WD Red Plus 2TB
WD Red Plus drives handle the workload in NAS environments for experienced users and small to medium-sized businesses. WD Red Plus drives offer the speed and capacity needed to store, protect and share a growing amount of data in medium-sized NAS systems optimised for RAID arrays with greater power efficiency. Western Digital's exclusive NASware™ technology fine-tunes the drive parameters according to the NAS system's workload, helping to increase performance and reliability.

Key features of the WD Red Plus 2TB hard drive
- NASware™ technology to optimise performance in NAS systems
- Designed for continuous operation in multi-bay NAS environments
- Lower power consumption and quieter operation for cost savings
- Advanced balance control reduces vibration and noise
- Proven compatibility with most NAS chassis and devices through testing and certification
- Data protection backed by Western Digital
Optimised for a lower cost of ownership
WD Red Plus drives have lower power consumption (compared to previous models) and quieter operation, which reduces running costs and contributes to lower temperatures in NAS chassis that have to deal with a lot of heat. Hard drives that are not correctly balanced can cause excessive vibration and noise in multi-drive systems, which reduces drive life and gradually degrades performance. Our enhanced dual-plane balance control technology significantly improves balance and overall drive performance and reliability.
Designed for continuous operation
Your NAS system is always on, so a reliable drive is essential. WD Red Plus hard drives are designed for systems with continuous operation, giving users reliable access to their data. Although these drives have lower power consumption, they offer enough throughput to handle the varying performance demands of multi-drive NAS systems. Western Digital works with a wide range of NAS system vendors on extensive testing to ensure compatibility with most NAS storage chassis.
