The Akasa AK-ICR-36 controller efficiently expands your desktop PC's connectivity with modern, high-speed ports. This internal USB-C panel installs into a standard 3.5" bay, moving key connectors to an easily accessible spot on the front of your case. It provides one USB-C 3.2 Gen 2x2 port with a transfer speed of up to 20Gbps, complemented by two USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 ports. Connection to the motherboard uses a standard internal Key-A 20-pin header, which simplifies installation. This gives you instant access for connecting external drives, flash drives and other peripherals.

Data transfer with the Akasa AK-ICR-36 panel
The USB-C port supports the USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 standard and achieves transfer speeds of up to 20Gbps. This speed is crucial when handling large amounts of data, such as 4K video files, extensive RAW photo archives, or complete system backups. It harnesses the full potential of external NVMe drives and other high-speed storage, reducing the time needed for copying and synchronising data.
Centralised connectivity
In addition to the high-speed USB-C port, the panel features two USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 connectors. These ports operate at speeds of up to 5Gbps, which is sufficient for common peripherals like external hard drives, flash drives, keyboards, or mice. An important feature is its backwards compatibility with the older USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 standards. This means you can connect older devices without any issues or the need for additional adaptors.
Controller installation
The panel is mounted in a free 3.5" bay in your computer case. It connects to the motherboard using an internal USB 3.2 Gen 2 connector, known as a Key-A 20-Pin header. This connector is a common feature on modern motherboards. The panel does not require any specific drivers to be installed, as its functionality is natively supported by a wide range of operating systems from Windows.
