Active Ingredients and Composition
Alavis MSM for horses contains a unique combination of these substances: Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM) and the branded hydrolysed collagens COLLYSS™ and CARTIDYSS™. Active ingredients in 1kg of powder: MSM - Methylsulfonylmethane 994g, COLLYSS™ 3g, CARTIDYSS™ 3g.
- Methylsulfonylmethane - MSM – is a natural substance containing organically bound sulphur, which works to strengthen ligaments and tendons, suppress inflammation and pain, and regenerate and relax muscles. It also exhibits strong antioxidant and other positive effects and is a unique source of sulphur compounds that have a positive effect on the body, especially in damaged joint cartilage. Sulphur is involved, among other things, in the process of creating collagen and glucosamines – the basic building blocks of joint cartilage and connective tissues.
- COLLYSS™ - the highest quality type I collagen – is found in heavily stressed structures such as tendons and fibrous cartilage. It is resistant to tension and is therefore very important for the strength of tendons and thus for strengthening the musculoskeletal system. This collagen is also found in bones and skin. COLLYSS™ type I collagen is a patented, purified collagen hydrolysate obtained from the cartilage of marine fish.
- CARTIDYSS™ - the highest quality type II collagen – maintains the shape of the cartilage and prevents its deformation. Type II collagen is a component of hyaline and elastic cartilage and is resistant to pressure. CARTIDYSS™ is a purified collagen hydrolysate obtained from the cartilage of rays.
Recommended Dosage and Method of Use
The powder can be administered with a piece of food, mixed into feed or molasses, or given directly into the mouth. ALAVIS™ MSM is a white crystalline powder with no sulphur smell. Use is not time-limited. No serious side effects have been observed with long-term administration. It is not a doping substance and can be administered throughout the entire sports season.
