APC Easy UPS BV 650VA (SCHUKO)

The APC Easy UPS BV 650VA is a line-interactive UPS that provides protection for home and office electronics. With an output power of 650VA and a real power of 375W, it powers connected devices during both short-term and complete power outages. The integrated Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR) stabilises fluctuating input voltage and corrects undervoltage and overvoltage without needing to switch to the battery. This feature saves the APC backup battery for when the mains fails completely. This uninterruptible power supply for PCs and other sensitive electronics offers a backup time of 10 minutes at half load. With its quiet operation, not exceeding 40dBA, it won't disturb you in your work environment.

Performance, topology and efficiency

This uninterruptible power supply uses line-interactive topology, which actively stabilises the voltage. The Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR) function continuously monitors the input mains and compensates for fluctuations without using battery power. It only switches to the battery during more significant anomalies or a complete outage. The efficiency of the UPS at full load is 96.9% and at half load is 94.4%, which helps to lower operating costs. The real power of 375W is sufficient to power standard computer setups, monitors or network components.

Battery backup and runtime

The unit contains an internal 12V lead-acid battery with a capacity of 7.0Ah. At a full load of 375W, it provides a 2-minute backup, which is enough to safely save your work and shut down the system. At half load (approximately 188W), the backup time extends to 10 minutes. The battery lasts for 3–5 years, depending on operating conditions and frequency of use. The user can replace the battery, which simplifies maintenance at the end of its life. A fully discharged battery takes approximately 8 hours to recharge.

Protection features

The UPS protects connected electronics not only from power outages but also from damage caused by power surges. The integrated surge protection absorbs energy spikes of up to 156J. It also includes protection against deep battery discharge. Audible alarms alert you to a low battery status or an output overload. There are four Schuko CEE 7 sockets available for connecting devices, all of which are fully backed up and protected. The input connection uses a fixed cable with a Schuko plug. The unit does not have a communication interface such as USB and does not use management software.

Design and operating conditions

The compact design, measuring 112×92.5×305mm (width × height × depth) and weighing 4.5kg, makes it easy to place the UPS in a limited space. The design also supports wall mounting, offering flexibility for installation in the office or at home. The operating noise level does not exceed 40dBA, so the unit won't disturb a quiet working environment. The UPS can operate in an environment with temperatures from 0°C to 40°C and relative humidity up to 90%. The package includes a user manual. The black finish blends easily into most interiors.
