Cars with drum brakes have brake shoes, where they perform an irreplaceable function. You will find them in the construction of the drum brake, every time you brake, it presses on it and thus you slow down. You can also install the shoes in the drum brakes yourself. Use a jack to lift the car and then lock it against movement. Then you just take off the wheel and replace the shoe in the brake system.
