All cars with drum brakes have brake shoes, they ensure reliable braking there. You will find them in the construction of the drum brake, every time you brake, it presses on it and thus you slow down. You can handle the simple assembly of the jaws yourself. After lifting the car with a jack, you lock it against movement. After removing the wheel, you will expose the brake system and replace the shoe.
