Cars with drum brakes have brake shoes, where they perform an irreplaceable function. You will find them in the construction of the drum brake, which brakes due to compression. You can handle the installation of the shoes in the drum brakes yourself. If you lift the car with a jack and then lock it against movement, you are half done. When you remove the wheel, you can replace the shoe in the brake system.
