Flexible X-Blade Made of Japanese Steel
The Babyliss OT992E shaver features Japanese steel for long-lasting performance of the shaving mechanism. The Japanese steel blade, with 50° of movement, follows the surface of the face and neck. The mechanism reduces irritation to sensitive skin during daily grooming. The shaver works with a cutting length from 0.2mm without the use of additional combs. The blade moves smoothly and can handle trimming coarse beards without any uncomfortable pulling.
Length Setting
Users have a total of 5 cutting settings available, ranging from 0.2mm to 5mm. The package includes guide combs for different beard lengths of 1mm, 2mm, 3mm, and 5mm. The selected guide comb defines the precise cutting height to create stubble or a short beard. The comb is attached by simply snapping it onto the shaving head from one side.
Li-ion Battery and Mains Operation
Power is provided by an integrated lithium-ion battery for cordless operation. The integrated Li-ion battery requires 10,800s for a full charge, which corresponds to 3 hours. A quick 20-minute charge provides enough power for one standard 5-minute shave. An LED indicator flashes to show the battery capacity status and stays lit when fully charged. The included USB-C cable is used for charging.
Runtime
On a single full charge, the shaver operates wirelessly for 2,700s. This time corresponds to 45 minutes of continuous operation without needing to be connected to the mains. The battery maintains its capacity with regular discharging and recharging in 6-month cycles. The shaver locks automatically when the travel lock is activated by holding the button for 2 seconds. The LED indicator will then flash to confirm it's locked.
IPX7 Waterproof Design
The body of the device meets the IPX7 waterproof specification for safe use in the shower and bath. Users can clean the device under warm running water after each use to remove hair residue. The waterproof design makes maintenance and cleaning of the shaving head and individual attachments easy. Both wet and dry shaving can be done without risk of damaging the internal electronics. The entire device must dry thoroughly before being stored in its case.
