Beats is an American manufacturer of headphones, speakers and other audio equipment. The company is currently owned by Apple.

A short history of Beats

Beats was founded in 2006 by Jimmy Iovine and well-known hip-hop producer Andre Young, also known as Dr Dre. In 2012 HTC bought a majority share in the company, but on 10 May 2014 the company was acquired by Apple Inc.

The rapid rise of the Beats brand

Beats headphones very quickly became a worldwide success, thanks in part to the company's modern designs, sophisticated advertising, and association with world-famous musicians. Beats products have appeared in music videos with millions of views, equipped the US basketball team at the Summer Olympics in Shanghai, and are used by many world-famous musicians and celebrities. The company has collaborated with various musicians and celebrities on the development of its products.
