The Scottish distillery BenRiach is located in the Speyside region, which is famous for its high concentration of distilleries and strong competition. Only two local distilleries are still drying their own malt and do not rely on an industrially processed product. BenRiach is one of them.
Production and awards
When burning their goodies, they then add water from the spring directly under the distillery and dry the local peat in the smoke in smoked pieces. They simply distill the DNA of the surrounding nature. Fantastic.
BenRiach 12y is a great malt whiskey with an elegant fruit-floral profile, which includes several medals from world exhibitions, including gold from the International Wine & Spirits Competition 2014.
Aroma and taste
After the scent, you will be enveloped by the scent of honey, vanilla, flowers and fruit with a pleasant woody touch.
The taste is pleasantly round, full with strong tones of honey, vanilla, cream, spices and chocolate.
