Betadine ointment 100 g
Betadine ointment 100 g
Betadine ointment is an antiseptic, disinfectant with a wide spectrum of action against bacteria, viruses, fungi and protozoa. The preparation is used for burns, cuts and lacerations, abrasions, ulcerative skin diseases caused by poor tissue nutrition (e.g. bedsores, tibial ulcers) and various skin diseases associated with infection.
For skin ulcers (bedsores, tibial ulcers) and skin diseases associated with infection, use only after consulting a doctor. Without consulting a doctor, the product can be used to disinfect intact skin and to disinfect wounds. In other indications, the product is used on the recommendation of a doctor or applied by a doctor or nurse.
Dosage and method of use
Apply a thin layer of ointment to clean, dry skin three to four times a day. Reapply each time without washing off the previously applied ointment. In the case of a severely inflamed or festering wound, the ointment can be applied more frequently, i.e. four to six times a day. Intervals between doses should be at least 4 hours.
The wound can be covered with a dressing as needed, depending on the extent and severity of the injury. The ointment is intended for use on the skin. Must not be used near the eyes. Do not take Betadine, Ointment for more than 7 days without consulting your doctor.
Contraindications
Because of the ability of iodine to cross the placenta and be excreted in breast milk and because of the increased sensitivity of the fetus and newborn to iodine, iodized povidone should be used during pregnancy and lactation only in strictly indicated cases and only on the advice of a physician.
