BrainMax glasses blocking 100% of blue and green light, LaserLook
BrainMax glasses for blocking 100% of blue and green light, LaserLook
Glasses designed to protect your circadian rhythm (your internal clock). Wear them for 2 hours before bed to block the blue and green light spectrum. They block 100% of blue and green light and have special soft side shields that block light coming from the side. By wearing blue-light-blocking glasses before bed, you can improve your sleep, your health (through the release of melatonin), and your morning energy.
Blue and green light don't stand a chance! They block perfectly!
Specially designed for comfort and maximum effectiveness.
By blocking blue light, you'll really notice the difference in your sleep quality
By wearing blue-light-blocking glasses before bed, you can improve your sleep, your health (through the release of melatonin), and your morning energy. It has been found that blocking the green part of the spectrum at the same time as the blue enhances the positive effects on sleep quality. Please note: wearing glasses that block 100% of blue and green light all day can cause fatigue.
Protection from blue and green light
These glasses should be worn for 1.5–2 hours before sleep to block blue and green light and optimise your circadian rhythm. They block the spectrum at a wavelength of 380 to 565nm. Read our article about what melatonin is for and how to increase its levels, or why sleep is important and how to work on improving it.
The problem with blue light
In today's digital age, few people can tear their eyes away from a screen, whether it's a television, mobile phone or computer. The increasing use of these electronic devices and the use of LED lights have created new problems.
- Exposure to blue light from screens before bedtime disrupts melatonin production and sleep patterns.
- Blue light exposure can lead to macular degeneration.
- Excessive saturation of blue light can reduce visual acuity and make it harder to focus.
- Blue light has been shown to cause photochemical damage to the retina and macula, which cause oxidative stress in the eyes.
- Sleep disorders can lead to depression and an increased risk of illness.
Blue light between 380 and 470nm is considered harmful because it can cause retinal damage and cataracts, and is linked to sleep disorders. However, not all spectrums of blue light are bad; for example, the spectrum from 470 to 500nm, also called turquoise blue light, is generally considered good. This range of visible blue light is beneficial because it stimulates natural reflexes that protect the eyes from overexposure and also helps cognitive and memory functions of the brain. At the same time, it stimulates photosensitive retinal ganglion cells, as well as the pupillary reflex, and controls the circadian cycle.
