Bromhexine - Egis solution 120 mg 60 ml
Bromhexine-EGIS is an expectorant recommended for the treatment of acute and chronic respiratory diseases associated with thick mucus production. The preparation facilitates the removal of secretions in the bronchi and trachea. Dissolution of mucous secretions is also facilitated in inflammations of the nose and pharyngeal capsule. The preparation is not suitable for the relief of dry cough. The content of the package is 60 ml.
Dosage and method of use
The recommended dosage of the preparation for adults is 4 ml of the solution 3 times a day.
Use in children and adolescents:
Up to 2 years of age:
1 ml oral solution 3 times a day
2 to 6 years:
1 to 2 ml oral solution 3 times a day
6 to 14 years:
4 ml oral solution 3 times a day
This medicine is recommended to be taken after a meal with plenty of fluids. Abundant fluid intake during treatment promotes expectoration.
Contraindications
Read the package insert carefully! Do not take Bromhexine-EGIS if you are allergic to bromhexine, ambroxol, or any of the other ingredients in this product. Bromhexine EGIS should not be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Full details are given in the package leaflet.
Notice
Consult your doctor or pharmacist before taking Bromhexine EGIS if you have bronchial disturbances or if large amounts of mucus form. Possible hypersensitivity reactions should be considered before administering Bromhexine EGIS. There have been reports of severe skin reactions associated with the administration of bromhexine hydrochloride.
If you develop a skin rash (including lesions on the lining of your mouth, throat, nose, eyes, or genitals), stop taking Bromhexine EGIS and contact your doctor right away.
Storage
Keep this product out of sight and reach of children. Do not use this product after the expiry date stated on the box and bottle after EXP (month and year). The expiry date shall be the last day of the month indicated. Store at temperatures up to 25 °C. Keep in the original packaging to protect the product from light.
Do not dispose of any medicines in wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of products you no longer use. These measures help protect the environment.
