Printing technology and quality
The Canon SELPHY CP1500 uses a dye-sublimation thermal transfer printing system. It prints at a maximum resolution of 300 × 300 DPI. Three colour inks with a protective overcoat finish create photos with 256 shades of each colour and a 24-bit colour depth. This results in a reproduction of up to 16.7 million colours. The device prints a postcard-size photo in approximately 41 seconds.
Printing options and creative uses
The printer works with the SELPHY Photo Layout app, available for iOS and Android devices. The app lets you create custom layouts, add text, borders, stamps and other elements. It also offers templates, overlays and various finishing options. Features include the ability to create stickers, bookmarks and prints with QR codes. The printer supports printing in several sizes, from postcards to mini labels.
