Active ingredients

  • Silica contained in DeflaGyn® as highly dispersed micronized silica is an approved and proven chemical agent that adsorbs bacteria, viruses and other molecular contaminants from secretions.
  • Selenium acts in the human body primarily as an antioxidant agent. It neutralizes toxic peroxides that are formed during the conversion of body fat into energy and can disrupt cellular components, including DNA. Citric acid is an organic acid found in citrus fruits that is commonly used as a preservative in packaged foods and beverages. It is added to them for a variety of reasons - to increase acidity and modify taste, as a preservative or antioxidant.
  • The combination of sodium selenite with citric acid significantly increased the antioxidant potential of sodium selenite. The antioxidant capacity of DEFLAMIN®, a patented combination of citric acid and sodium selenite, is stronger than the individual ingredients and even stronger than vitamin C. These two substances exhibit high therapeutic efficacy with a concomitant absence of toxicological risk.

Dosage and application

DeflaGyn® should be used for 3 months (3×28 days) while waiting for a follow-up cervical smear.

Menstruating patients:
DeflaGyn® should be used for 3×28 days. After 28 days of treatment, please discontinue the use of DeflaGyn® Intravaginal Gel for 3 days. Then continue treatment for another 28 days and stop for another 3 days. Then continue with the third treatment cycle.

Menstruating patients:
Do not use DeflaGyn® intravaginal gel during menstruation (approximately 3-5 days per cycle). It is not necessary to interrupt treatment for another 3 days, as menstruation is already counted as a break in treatment.

How should I use this product?

  • Place the bottle of DeflaGyn® on a flat surface. Unscrew the bottle cap. Place the tip of the applicator on the mouth of the bottle.
  • Turn the bottle of DeflaGyn® with the applicator inserted upside down (180°). Draw 5 ml of gel with a slow stroke of the applicator plunger until it reaches the 5 ml mark. Turn the bottle over and place it back on a flat surface. Pull out the filled applicator.
  • Lie on your back and prop your pelvis with a pillow. Insert the applicator deep into the vagina (until it reaches the cervix). The easiest way to do this is with bent knees. Once you have placed the applicator in the correct position, slowly press the plunger to squeeze out the gel and then pull the applicator out of the sheath.
  • Remain lying down for approximately 1 minute. Make sure your pan is still raised. This ensures proper coverage of the cervix with vaginal gel.

Notice

DeflaGyn® Vaginal Gel should only be used in consultation with a physician, especially during pregnancy. Intravaginally applied treatments (therapeutic and/or cleansing and/or contraceptive) should be used no sooner than two hours after administration of DeflaGyn® Vaginal Gel. Slight reddish discolouration on/in the bottle cap does not affect the continued use of the product.

Contraindications

Do not use DeflaGyn® Intravaginal Gel if you have a known hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients in this product. Co-use of DeflaGyn® vaginal gel and products that remain in the vagina (such as vaginal rings) could reduce the effectiveness of these products and is therefore contraindicated.

Side effects:
In rare cases, burning and itching.

What you need to know before using this product:
Shake the bottle thoroughly before use. After use, some of the applied gel may run out. This gel may appear slightly reddish and may stain your underwear. After washing the laundry, the discolouration disappears. You can also use a sanitary napkin.

Storage

Store at temperatures up to 25 °C. Do not use after the expiry date. Keep out of reach of children.
