Defumoxan is an over-the-counter medicine for smoking cessation and reducing nicotine cravings in smokers and nicotine addicts. Defumoxan does not contain nicotine and the duration of treatment is 25 days. One pack of Defumoxan (100 tablets) is sufficient for a complete treatment. The goal of Defumoxane treatment is to permanently stop using nicotine-containing products. The active substance is the plant alkaloid cytisine, which has a similar chemical structure to nicotine. Its action is similar to nicotine but generally weaker. It allows a gradual reduction in nicotine dependence by alleviating withdrawal symptoms. Clinical studies and previous experience with Defumoxan containing cytisine suggest good tolerability of this substance. The package contains 100 tablets.
Dosage and method of use
One packet of Defumoxan (100 tablets) is enough for the total treatment. The duration of treatment is 25 days. Defumoxan is taken by mouth with plenty of water and according to the following treatment schedule. Recommended dosage: Days of treatment / Recommended dosage / Maximum daily doseDays 1 to 3 - 1 tablet every 2 hours - 6 tabletsDays 4 to 12 - 1 tablet every 2.5 hours - 5 tabletsDays 13 to 16 - 1 tablet every 3 hours - 4 tabletsDays 17 to 20 - 1 tablet every 5 hours - 3 tabletsDays 21 to 25 - 1 to 2 tablets daily - up to 2 tabletsSmoking should be stopped no later than day 5 of treatment. Smoking cannot be continued during treatment as it may worsen side effects. If treatment is unsuccessful, it must be stopped and treatment can be restarted in 2 to 3 months.
Contraindications
Not suitable for children and adolescents under 18 years of age and persons over 65 years of age. Defumoxan should not be taken during pregnancy and lactation.

Storage
Keep this product out of sight and reach of children. Store at temperatures up to 25 °C in the original packaging to protect the product from light andmoisture. Do not use this product after the expiry date on the box. Shelf liferefers to the last day of that month. Do not dispose of any medicines in wastewater or household waste. Ask yourpharmacist how to dispose of products you no longer use.
