The EATON UPS 3S 850 DIN Gen2 backup power supply with USB charger operates with off-line topology. This EATON 850VA backup power supply offers eight Schuko sockets, four of which are fully backed up and four serve as EATON surge protection. Backup power supply performance and topology
The backup power supply operates in an off-line topology, which protects computers and peripheral devices in homes and offices. It provides an apparent power of 850VA and a real power of 510W. The standard input voltage range is 184–264V, with the option to set it to 161–284V. The backup time at full load is 80 seconds, and at half load it is 450 seconds. The low noise level of under 25dB won't disturb you while you work.
Battery and protection features
Inside is a sealed 12V / 9Ah lead-acid battery, which the user can replace themselves without needing professional service. Battery management includes an automatic test, deep discharge protection and a cold start function for starting up without a mains connection. It protects connected devices against surges and voltage spikes. It also includes telephone network protection via an RJ-11 connector.
Backup power supply management and monitoring
A USB port is used for communication with a computer, which is fully compatible with the HID standard. This support simplifies integration with Windows, macOS and Linux systems without the need to install specific drivers. Eaton UPS Companion software provides advanced management and monitoring tools. The application ensures a safe system shutdown during a prolonged outage, monitors current energy consumption and allows for detailed configuration of the UPS settings according to specific needs.
Backup power supply connectivity and sockets
Connection to the electrical grid is via a 1.5-metre long cable with a Schuko plug. A total of eight Schuko sockets are available for powering devices. Four sockets provide full battery backup and another four serve as surge protection for less critical equipment. The features are rounded off by two USB ports for charging mobile devices.
