FIFINE AM8 White

FIFINE AM8 White
The FIFINE AM8 desktop microphone combines a dynamic capsule with a cardioid polar pattern for precise voice capture. This model offers versatile connectivity options with USB-C and XLR interfaces, making it easy to integrate into various audio setups. The cardioid polar pattern reduces unwanted background noise and focuses primarily on the sound source in front of the microphone. When connected via USB, you can also use the integrated 3.5mm jack for real-time, zero-latency audio monitoring. A stable metal stand with a non-slip pad ensures secure placement on your desk.

Sound capture and polar pattern
The microphone uses a dynamic design and a cardioid polar pattern that focuses primarily on the sound source in front of the capsule while reducing unwanted background noise. The 50Hz to 16000Hz frequency range captures spoken word naturally, making it ideal for gaming, streaming, recording, or podcasting. During digital transmission via USB, the microphone operates with a 16-bit depth and a 48kHz sampling rate.
Background noise reduction
The dynamic capsule helps minimise background noise and focuses on the voice close to the microphone. At the same time, the cardioid polar pattern reduces sound coming from the sides and rear. Correct placement of the microphone helps isolate noises like computer fans or keyboard clicks. The windshield also reduces unwanted plosives for cleaner voice recordings.
Connectivity and outputs
This model offers flexible connection options via USB-C and an analogue XLR connector. In USB mode, it works as a plug-and-play solution without requiring any special drivers. The XLR connector lets you connect to an external audio interface or mixer, making it easy to expand your recording setup in the future. When connected via USB, you can also use the 3.5mm headphone output for direct, zero-latency monitoring. An XLR cable is not included.
Controls and settings
When connected via USB, all essential controls are available directly on the microphone body. Use the gain dial to adjust microphone sensitivity and the separate volume dial to adjust the level of your connected headphones. The tap-to-mute button lets you silence the microphone instantly, with an LED light showing the current status. During analogue connection via XLR, the mute button, RGB backlighting, and other controls are inactive, and adjustments must be made through your audio interface or mixer.
Light effects
The base of the microphone features integrated RGB backlighting, which you can control with a touch-sensitive button on the body when using a USB connection. Choose from three lighting modes and eight static colours, giving you a total of ten lighting options. You can cycle through the RGB effects or turn them off completely. The backlighting remains inactive when connected via XLR.
Design and accessories
A metal stand with a non-slip pad ensures stable desk placement. Standard 3/8" and 5/8" threads let you mount the microphone to most compatible boom arms and stands without needing an adapter. The package includes a windshield to reduce wind noise when speaking. A USB cable is also supplied for plug-and-play connection.

Operating principle
Dynamic microphones suit open-air performances, live streams, music production, and more. They use a magnet and moving coil to capture sound.
Condenser microphones are ideal for studio use. They offer higher sensitivity and lower noise, but require external power.
Frequency response
The frequency range indicates the span of frequencies that the microphone can capture. A wider range means it captures more detail.
Low frequencies (e.g. 20–200Hz): bass, the deepest tones of instruments (double bass, kick drum) and male voices.
Mid frequencies (e.g. 200–3000Hz): the body of instruments and the foundation of vocals where the ear is most sensitive, crucial for speech intelligibility.
High frequencies (e.g. 3000–14000Hz): treble, detail, sibilance and audio "sparkle".
Air band (above 14000Hz): gives recordings a sense of high-end, premium quality and space.
Sensitivity
Microphone sensitivity is the ratio of output voltage to acoustic pressure. It determines how strong a signal the microphone produces at a given acoustic pressure; higher sensitivity delivers a stronger voltage and is ideal for quiet studios, while lower sensitivity is better for loud environments because it picks up less background noise.
