Diclofenac Galmed is used for the local treatment of musculoskeletal disorders that have an inflammatory or degenerative origin, i.e. to relieve pain and inflammation in muscles and joints, and can be commonly used for the following conditions: Short-term local treatment of acute injuries such as sprains, bruises, blunt injuries (injuries sustained during sports). Soft tissue injuries, post-traumatic conditions: tendon, muscle and joint injuries e.g. when sprains, strains and or bruises and back pain.
Always use this medicine exactly as directed in the package insert or by your doctor or pharmacist. If you are unsure, consult your doctor or pharmacist. Apply the gel in a thin layer 3-4 times a day to the affected area and rub it lightly into the skin at the site of pain or swelling. Depending on the extent of the lesion, apply an amount corresponding to the size of a cherry to walnut (2-4 g). This is a sufficient amount to treat an area of 400-800 cm2 (equivalent to e.g. size 20×20 cm to 20×40 cm). It is necessary to wash your hands after the application, if they are not the treated area. Adults Do not use for more than 2 weeks for muscle and joint injuries (i.e. sprains, strains, bruises) or in the treatment of back pain, unless your doctor has ordered longer treatment. If the pain or swelling does not improve within 7 days of treatment or even worsens, consult your doctor. In inflammatory and degenerative rheumatic diseases (soft tissue rheumatism) or degenerative joint damage (arthritis), always consult your doctor about the duration of treatment with Diclofenac Galmed. The doctor will determine the length of treatment. Adolescents aged 14 years and over If adolescents aged 14 years and over need to use the product for more than 7 days to relieve pain, inflammation and swelling, or if symptoms worsen, it is recommended to see a doctor. Elderly patients (over 65 years) Dosage does not differ from that of other adults. Children and adolescents up to 14 years of age The product is not intended for use in children and adolescents up to 14 years of age because there is insufficient information on the efficacy and safety of the treatment in them (see section 2 - Do not use Diclofenac Galmed).

Do not apply it to skin with a rash or eczema. Discontinue treatment if a rash appears on the skin after application. Do not apply to large areas of skin and do not use for longer than recommended unless advised by your doctor. Diclofenac Galmed is for oral use only. Do not use in the oral cavity. It is advisable to protect the treated areas with clothing. You can use a brace or bandage commonly used for injuries such as sprains, but do not use leaky (plastic) bandages. If Diclofenac Galmed is used on a large area of skin, is used over a long period of time, or is used in combination with oral (by mouth) or injected non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), overall side effects may occur. Children and adolescents (under 14 years of age) Diclofenac Galmed is not intended for use in children and adolescents under 14 years of age because insufficient data on the efficacy and safety of the product are available for them (see Do not use Diclofenac Galmed) If the product needs to be used for more than 7 days for pain relief in adolescents over 14 years of age, or if symptoms worsen, patients or their parents are advised to seek medical advice.
