How is the helicobacter test done?
Preparing a stool sample and performing the test.
- 1. Place the stool sample in a clean, dry container.
- 2. Open the coloured cap of the sample container (included). Be careful not to spill liquid from the container!
- 3. After unscrewing the cap on which the stick is attached, take a sample by dipping the stick into the stool sample at 3-4 different points.
- 4. Carefully remove any excess stool that remains in the groove at the end of the sampling stick!
- 5. Return the cap with the sampling rod to the container and screw the cap on tightly.
- 6. Shake the contents of the container thoroughly to mix the stool sample properly with the solution in the container.
- 7. Hold the sample container with the coloured cap facing upwards and clean the top of the cap thoroughly.
- 8. After breaking off the tip of the cap or unscrewing it (depending on the product variant), the container functions as a dropper. Turn the container upside down and drop 3 to 4 drops from the contents of the container into the round window of the test cartridge.
- 9. Evaluate the result after 5 - 10 minutes. (After 15 minutes the test is invalid, do not score it. )
Evaluation of the Helicobacter pylori stool test
- A single line below the letter C in the results window means that the result is negative.
- The lines displayed under the letters C and T in the results window mean that the result is positive.
- If no line appears under the letters C and T in the results window within 20 minutes, the result is invalid. There has been an error in the procedure or the test cartridge has been damaged and the test must be repeated.
Limit Helicobacter pylori test from stool
- The Helicobacter pylori test is reliable under the storage and use conditions specified in the instructions for the entire indicated shelf life.
- Result H. The pylori test cannot be used alone to make a diagnosis. It only indicates whether or not Helicobacter pylori is present in the sample. The final diagnosis will only be made by a specialist doctor.
- If the test result is negative, this does not in itself mean that Helicobacter pylori is not present in the body. It is necessary to use other clinical methods.
- The test gives the most reliable results at room temperature.
- The accuracy of the result depends on how closely you follow the prescribed test procedure. If you put more than 4-5 drops of sample into the test window, you will get an incorrect result.
