An automatic oil pump lets you adjust the lubrication intensity. Safety features include a chain brake and a safety STOP switch. The engine has a LEICHT-START reverse starting system and a PRIMER manual fuel pump. The guide bar length is 505mm and the fuel tank capacity is 0.55L.

The ergonomically shaped handle of the Güde KS 450-53 saw has a front handle with a non-slip surface. The rear handle is mounted on a six-point anti-vibration system that dampens vibrations. The saw is equipped with steel bumper spikes and a chain catcher. The saw's casing is made of hardened plastic.
