System operation
The wireless connection of Homematic IP devices to the HmIP-HAP Central Unit offers convenient setup and control of a complex smart home system using an intuitive app (for Android and iOS in CZ) designed for smartphones. The mobile app enables instant response to messages and alerts from your smart home system and connects all Homematic IP devices via a free, unlimited cloud that allows you to set up and control the system from anywhere in the world, transfer important information and update the software and firmware of the devices, and forward configuration and operational commands from the Homematic IP app to individual smart home devices.
Alarm functions of PIR motion detector
The HmIP-SMI motion detector is activated as soon as its PIR sensor detects motion during active protection. The system immediately performs the pre-configured operation and informs you of the event via push notifications from the Homematic IP mobile app on your smartphone. In addition, your home or office can be even safer if your security solution includes the HmIP-ASIR-2 indoor siren or the HmIP-ASIR-O outdoor siren. In this case, if the protection of the guarded area is breached, a loud alarm sound is automatically triggered.
Accurate brightness sensor
Automatic lighting control when motion is detected or for greater comfort and maximum energy saving, depending on the preset brightness value and lighting conditions in the room, lighting is only activated when needed. The threshold values for the brightness intensity of the integrated sensor and the time for switching the lighting can be individually and continuously set via the mobile app. If it becomes dark or completely dark, the device is activated and the system executes the preconfigured operation or scenario. When used for light control after motion detection, the duration of the luminaire illumination can be continuously adjusted in the Homematic IP application.
Small and compact
Thanks to its compact housing design and very small dimensions, the detector offers variable mounting and placement options in the interior space. Included in the package is a multifunctional bracket, which allows the detector to be flexibly installed on walls, ceilings or in the corners of rooms. With the stand also included, you can freely place the motion detector anywhere within your smart home. The detector protects the area within a range of up to 12 metres and a detection angle of around 105°.
Protection in case of sabotage
If an intruder reaches the motion detector, the tamper contact reliably detects the tampering and triggers an alarm. Inter-device communication ensures that the alarm is triggered even without an internet connection. If your smart home security solution includes a Homematic IP siren (outdoor or indoor), the siren will remain in alarm mode in the event of sabotage or destruction of the HmIP-HAP Central Unit.

Easy installation in just a few moments
Installation of the Homematic IP wireless PIR motion detector is very simple and can be done by anyone. Wireless communication and battery operation offer the possibility of simple installation without the need for cabling. This means that the detector can be placed almost anywhere in the interior of the home. The detector comes with two types of holders. Fixed mounting bracket (on walls, in corners of the room, etc. ) using the supplied mounting material (dowels, screws) and a holder (stand) for free, static placement of the detector (on a shelf, cabinet, etc. ).
