The Inter-Tech IPC 4U-40255 provides a robust foundation for building powerful server systems that require installation in rack cabinets. This 4U computer case stands out for its modularity and well-thought-out internal layout, which allows for a wide variety of hardware configurations. Users get a reliable chassis with an emphasis on functionality, effective cooling, and easy maintenance.
The manufacturer has chosen highly durable steel between 1.0 and 1.2 millimetres thick, which ensures structural stability and the safety of installed components, even when fully loaded. The overall build quality meets the demands of long-term, continuous operation, while access to internal parts is made easy by a top cover fitted with practical snap fasteners. This mechanism lets you open the chassis in an instant, significantly speeding up servicing or hardware replacements directly in the server room.
The internal space offers outstanding flexibility when choosing drive arrays, as the mounting frames on both sides can be removed if needed. The standard configuration provides three external 5.25" bays, but with adjustments, you can create space for up to six additional external drives or use the interior for a high number of hard drives. Depending on the chosen layout, the system can hold up to eleven hard drives or four SSDs, satisfying even the demands of large-capacity data storage.
The thermal stability of the entire system is maintained by four pre-installed fans, which create a strong airflow from the front bezel towards the rear panel. Two 120mm fans at the front of the case draw in cool air, while heat is exhausted by two smaller fans at the back. For specific cooling needs in the drive array area, the cooling system can be further enhanced by mounting up to six optional 40mm fans, which are installed directly behind the 5.25" bay brackets.
The front panel provides instant access to two USB 3.0 ports, simplifying server management and the quick connection of external diagnostic tools. The chassis supports a wide spectrum of motherboards, from compact Mini ITX to large server standards like SSI EEB or eATX, thereby providing freedom when choosing a platform. You can easily fit graphics cards up to 330 millimetres long and CPU coolers up to 150 millimetres high inside, which covers most commonly available hardware.
