The Levenhuk New Skyline Plus 80/900 EQ2 is a refractor telescope for both astronomical and terrestrial observation. As an achromatic refractor, it is particularly suitable for observing the Moon and planets in our solar system. With an 80mm objective lens diameter and a 900mm focal length, it provides a bright, sharp image. The telescope is mounted on an EQ2 manual equatorial mount, which makes it easy to track celestial objects as they move across the sky. It also includes a height-adjustable aluminium tripod.
The telescope uses an achromatic refractor, which minimises chromatic aberration and delivers a high-contrast image. The 80mm objective lens gathers enough light to observe details on the surface of the Moon or planets. All optical elements have a multi-layer anti-reflective coating that increases light transmission, contributing to a brighter and sharper view. The 900mm focal length enables you to achieve high magnification.
The instrument is placed on a robust EQ2 equatorial mount. This type of mount compensates for the Earth's rotation, allowing you to smoothly track celestial objects by turning a single control. Manual controls with fine adjustment on both axes enable precise targeting and help you keep the object in the field of view. The entire setup stands on an aluminium tripod with adjustable height, which provides a stable base for observation.
The equipment includes two SUPER eyepieces (10mm and 25mm) and a 90° screen size mirror. The 6×30 optical finderscope is used for quickly locating the desired object. The telescope is also ready for astrophotography, as it includes an M42 T-ring on the focuser for connecting a DSLR camera. You can also purchase and install a smartphone adapter for the instrument.
