Gui Fei Semi-Green Tea is Taiwan's highest quality oolong, sometimes referred to as Honey Oolong. The infusion has honey, slightly spicy and fruity taste. It originated after the earthquake in Taiwan, when tea trees began to create their own insect protection. Thanks to these substances, the leaves then began to produce a honey flavour when processed. The name Gui Fei represents a sensual, voluptuous version of the beauty caused by the fertile land. We recommend to prepare the tea using the Gong Fu Cha method, when you will perfectly get to know the variety of flavours and aromas that the leaves contain. Packaging design may vary slightly.
For the preparation of ORIENTAL Formosa Gui Fei Oolong Semi-Green Tea you will need 8 g of tea and a 0.5l pot. You can use the same tea leaves in several infusions. First, pour water at 75 °C over the tea, let it infuse for about 3 minutes. For the second infusion, heat the water to 85 °C and leave to infuse for 2 to 3 minutes. For the third time, pour 95 °C water over the tea leaves and leave to infuse for 3 minutes or more.
