The Natural Response bottles and teats are designed to make it easy for you to combine bottle feeding and breastfeeding. Your baby has to suck actively to get to the milk. When they stop sucking, the milk stops flowing from the bottle.

Choose the right teat
When bottle-feeding, it is crucial to choose the correct milk flow. Every baby learns to eat at their own pace, and their needs change. Some babies are happy with the teat marked with the number 0, called “First Flow”, and later switch to other teats with a higher flow rate. There are seven flow rates in total: 0 First Flow, 1 very slow flow, 2 slow flow, 3 medium flow, 4 fast flow, 5 very fast flow, and 6 for thick feeds.

Philips Avent Natural Response teats now use updated age recommendations. However, when choosing, it is more important to focus on the teat's flow rate than the baby's age. This is because every baby sucks at a different pace and has different needs. If your baby is happy during feeding, drinking smoothly and effortlessly, you are using the correct flow rate. If they get fussy while drinking or the milk flows out too quickly, we recommend choosing a different flow level that better suits their individual needs.
