Beasts of Paris

A monster is murdering powerful men in Paris. Maybe only a woman can stop her.

When the Paris gendarmes ask the Society for Research into Abnormal Phenomena for help, they have no idea that Samantha Harker will also be involved in the investigation.

The young researcher was still clinging to the shelves of the bookshelves and suffered the worst injury of her life when she cut herself on paper. But Sam is also the daughter of the man who destroyed Dracula, and she can see into the minds of monsters. That ability could help her crack the Paris case.

Or she could put her in a mental institution.

But Dr Helena Moriarty, one of the Company's best agents, doesn't want Sam's help at first. He has to deal with the unfortunate influence of the name and actions of his father, Professor Moriarty. He hides from the world and justice, but sometimes he makes himself known. Hel's partners then die under mysterious circumstances.

The investigation eventually leads Hel and Sam among the Parisian elite and into the ancient dark catacombs. They fight monsters, magic and humans, and their initially strained relationship slowly changes...

But can Sam really trust his partner? Is mutual trust the key to solving the mystery? Or is Sam just another piece on Professor Moriarty's chessboard?
