Standa Pekárek has three wishes in his life: driving the Volga, driving for the Humor and Folk Entertainment editorial staff, and driving the Gothamist. The five-part miniseries Volga is an adaptation of Karel Hynia's novel of the same name, written in an extraordinary, bizarre and precisely eavesdropped language. It can be perceived as a peculiar history of Czechoslovak television with a number of unbelievable, though real, "stories from filming". At the same time, however, it is a portrait of its protagonist - a limited egocentric who excels in devising small tricks and tricks - how to steal petrol, fake mileage, cheat his wife, get rid of the competition. Logically, he also becomes a StB collaborator (with the code name Volha) who informs on all his colleagues and passengers without any remorse.

The youngest members of the family, whom no one calls anything but scoundrels, delight in inventing mischief. And Káča, the younger daughter of Cilka and Oldřich, is about to introduce them to her future husband Zdeněk.... There's no shortage of surprises in this family.
