Chet Baker: Chet Baker Sings Ltd Clr
LP Record Chet Baker (1929–1988) is well known today as both a trumpeter and a singer. Chet's trumpet and his voice seem to be extensions of the same musical personality, and once you are familiar with both aspects of Baker's work, you expect to hear both. However, this album was a revelation in its time, bringing Baker new fame and a new audience who were less familiar with jazz than with pop music. The reasons are clear: Chet's voice is gentle and beautiful, while his phrasing is always sweeping and surprising.
