Clinical neuropsychology in practice

The second, updated and expanded edition presents both fundamental and the latest findings from the field of clinical neuropsychology and clinical psychology. The book is divided into two parts. The general part includes contributions relating to the neuroanatomy of the CNS, brain imaging methods, basic cognitive functions and the diagnosis of disorders in these areas. It is supplemented by a contribution on research methodology and the statistical processing of neuropsychological data. The special part, which is significantly larger in scope, is divided into several sections dedicated to neuropsychological diagnostics in neurological and psychiatric diseases, the rehabilitation of cognitive functions in these diseases, and possible neuropsychotherapeutic approaches. It also describes some other areas of applied neuropsychology, such as childhood issues, military neuropsychology and the issues of terrorism, or forensic neuropsychology. It also contains experimental and neuroscientific contributions (the importance of sleep for our memory, digital technologies in neuropsychological practice, the fear of snakes and other "unpleasant" animals, the neuropsychology of lying). Clinical Neuropsychology in Practice is currently the most extensive work presenting the state of applied clinical (neuro)psychology and diagnostics in this field in our country.
