Forest of the Dead

A friendly, almost family-like atmosphere reigns in the Jindřichův Hradec theatre company – until the first actor collapses. Then another. And another. They fall like trees in a forest, one after the other, and fear spreads far beyond the backstage. Investigators Kašmír and Lišková once again find themselves at the centre of the action, where the line between reality and theatrical performance is dangerously blurred. But it is not just about a forest of dead amateur actors – they also have the case of a deceased student on their desk, whose death remains unsolved. Perhaps it is no coincidence. Maybe these two cases are more closely linked than anyone would wish. Roles, backdrops and suspects alternate on stage. And a killer moves among them. Or is there more than one? In this theatre, they are not just playing for applause, but for their very lives.
