Gipsy.cz: Romano Hip Hop - CD
Romano Hip Hop - pop for the 21st century that's sure to win you over too! A true revelation on the Czech music scene, this is one of the greatest talents to emerge in recent decades.
Romani rapper Radoslav Banga, aka Gipsy, has created a unique creative tandem in the GIPSY.CZ project with leading Romani violinist Vojta Lavička (formerly of Deep Sweden, Alom, Natalika) and the exceptionally talented young musicians, brothers Petr (accordion, guitar) and Jan (double bass) Surmaj.
With the nonchalance and elegance of legendary Romani bandleaders, they mix an explosive blend of rap, Romani music, funk, ethno, and pop, which, alongside a healthy dose of aggression, is full of humour, perspective, and irony. The album Romano Hip Hop delivers rap's raw energy, Romani musicality, and a mastery of the pop craft. This new album offers an energy-packed synthesis of everything the talented musician and his bandmates have experienced and recorded on their journey through music and life.
