Guardian of the Woods

The raging battles for bare life in historical fantasy

The historical fantasy author's tale revisits the dark centuries of the first millennium after Christ, when people fight for their bare lives against cruel invaders. The demonic forest forces that have protected them since time immemorial are also calling for help.

Let's go back to the ancient ages, to the dark centuries of the first millennium after Christ, when people are fighting for their bare lives with cruel invaders. The Old Russian tribe of Vyatichi, who lived on the territory between the rivers Oka, Moskva and Don, is facing the expansion of the Kiev princely family of Rurik, which is expanding into the surrounding territories. Inspired by real historical events, the author creates a vivid picture of heroic warriors in harsh conditions, who call on gods and demons for help. Proud Prince Vladrag turns to the supernatural forest forces that have always protected the tribe from its enemies. Magical rituals - sacrifices to the angry gods - are also used for protection and victory. As always, the short story by the master of historical fantasy will enthrall and absorb.
